Celebrate America 250 on the 4th of July at Lake Storey Park in Galesburg with Big Bang BOOM !
Z106.1, Smurfit Westrock, the Galesburg Lions Club, and the City of Galesburg are teaming up to present the area’s largest Independence Day fireworks display synchronized to a patriotic music soundtrack.
This FREE community event is made possible with the support of Smurfit Westrock, Blick Art Materials, and Nissan of Galesburg!
For the best viewing experience, bring your family to Lake Storey Park on Saturday, July 4th, to claim your spot along the north bank of the lake. The fireworks will launch from the south side of the lake on the edge of the campground. If you watch the fireworks from somewhere other than Lake Storey Park, you will miss quite a bit of the show, including ground-based fireworks and special effects that don’t go above the tree line.
There will be sound systems at a couple of locations in the park, but you can also bring your own portable radio so that you can hear the synchronized Big Bang BOOM soundtrack and get the full impact of the show! The soundtrack will be broadcast on Z106.1 FM, as well as 92.7 FM The Laser.
